The Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT) estimates in-situ profiles of permeability and soil stratigraphy for hydrogeological and geoenvironmental site investigations. The HPT probe injects water in-situ while the probe is advancing. HPT profiling can be used to quickly characterize the hydraulic properties of a site and identify zones for further detailed investigation through sampling, borehole permeability tests, and well-monitoring installations.
Features
Continuous record of injection pressure, flow rate, and electrical conductivity versus depth
Data can be used to empirically estimate a depth profile of in-situ permeability
Deployed from CPT rigs with CPT rods
Deployed with or without CPTu
Advantages
Rapid and cost-effective alternative to borehole permeability investigations
HPT provides a depth profile of measurements that are used to estimate the in-situ permeability
